Brady turned 5 Today!

Today was Brady's birthday....we made a teenage mutant ninja turtle cake last night...Riley got up first this morning and wanted to make B a birthday card, so he and Nate set out on this adventure while I straightened the house for our birthday company that would be coming that evening.

Brady got up and came and saw his cake, he loved it. I took a couple of pictures of him so I could remember that precious face on the morning of his 5th birthday.

I had to work today so I dropped the boys off at school and took treats to Brady's class. When I picked up Brady his face was painted like a tiger....ok, that's good....they had a special day at school today....I was glad, because it made his day special...

We went to see "Horton, Hears a Who"....GREAT movie...nate and I both cried....Jon and Kristy, Isak and Alee joined us for the movie, then we went to our house for pizza, presents and cake. We had our pizza, we sang Happy Birthday and Brady blew out the number 5 candle. Then he opened his presents...he got a game boy advance sp (bought on e-bay :) he was excited, but more interested in playing with his cousins....the kids played and the adults looked at videos on you tube and had a blast.

Then our family left and the boys played game boy in bed until 11 or so....A beautiful day for a beautiful boy...Thanks God for my precious Treasure of Brady....and for the wonderful day of celebration we had today...the end.

Thursday, March 13th

ok, Thursday was one of those days for me, actually this was a crazy week. Nate was busy every night this week, so we were a little off and then my brother and his family came to see us on tuesday so that was a busy but very fun time. We had our first ladies meeting since I have been here on Thursday night so I was gearing up for that, and my to do list kept growing and was adding some stress to my brain, I had a semi-melt down on Thursday afternoon with one of the ladies on staff at our new Church....oops, it is kind of early to be letting anyone see a melt down, I mean we have only been here a few weeks, those should probably wait until we at least reach the six month marker, but oh, well...it happened. Blame it on what you want to blame it on....stress, being too tired, having a busy week, the anticipation of my baby being 5 the next day...who knows but none the less there it was staring me in the face like an ugly zit on your nose on prom night. so I was driving home and kind of still melting as I went...a few tears would trickle down my face every once in a while....and I am listening to Christian Radio, one of my favorite past times I might add, and what does our wonderful God do for me, He lets the DJ play one of the songs that ALWAYS makes me think of my mom..."LEGACY" by Nicole Nordeman...wow, what a loving and faithful God we serve...He once again proved himself to me and his unending Love for me and His protection of me and my oh so tender heart. Thank you God for putting your arms around me on Thursday, letting me cry, and telling me it was all going to be allright, I felt as if He was saying "go ahead and cry a little, and heal a little and then go and do my work...." so I did just that, I sat in my driveway and had a good cry, then I got out of the car and went and got my self ready to go and do the Lord's work and what a wonderful time we had...a very rewarding night with lots to look forward to in the future at First Baptist~Medina...Can't wait to see all God has in store for this ministry....It's gonna be a fun ride.

Things we have never seen before...

OK~ we woke up tuesday morning with about 5 inches of snow, and school was cancelled. It continued to snow all day, then we woke up wednesday morning with another 5-7 inches, and school was cancelled for the second day in a row...Riley said: "WOW, two snow days in a row, that is pretty neat." We had about 2 1/2 foot snow drifts in our drive way and could not get our trailblazer out. We lived in Kansas for almost 10 years and never owned a snow shovel, well we have two now, and we are using it on an almost daily basis...

Last night the boys were mixing some chocolate cookie dough at the table in the kitchen and I looked outside and low and behold there was a family of five deer in our neighbors back yard. They were getting some dinner from our neighbors bird feeder...It was an amazing sight to say the least, I think we all just stood there with our mouths hanging open in awe and amazement. Nate said...well we certainly NEVER would have seen deer in our backyard in Kansas....

What a different place we are living in...SNOW and DEER all in the same week...I have pictures but somehow we lost the cord when we packed to download my pictures to the computer, I am going to go buy one this week and I will post some updated pictures of all the fun we are having.
